Standard Blue Cochin
Standard Blue Cochin have beautiful plumage color, but it does not breed true. When you breed blue to blue you get blue, black, and splash colored offspring. The blue ratio is as fallows: Blue X Blue = 50% Blue, 25% Black, 25% Splash Blue X Splash = 50% Blue, 50% Splash Blue X Black = 50% Blue, 50% Black Splash X Black = 100% Blue Black X Black = 100% Black Splash X Splash = 100% Splash Cochin have an abundance of feathers making them appear larger then what they really are. They have fully feathered legs. Cochin are the friendliest of all breeds making them an excellent choice for pets.They are not the best layers, but they love to brood and raise babies. The roosters weigh 11lbs and the hens weigh 8 1/2lbs. They lay a medium brown egg. The Cochin are on the watch list for endangerment.
